You Really Can Change Your Life In 30 Days … If You Really Want It
Can you imagine living in such a way that instead of struggling to experience the life you want to live, you can use exceptionally powerful, proven principles to change everything, and do it faster than you ever thought possible? Can you?
I can. And I’ll tell you how, but first a question that kinda relates to my main point today – do you read much? Me, I read a lot. Mostly on my iPad these days, although I am still a sucker for a real-life page turner. And for a great bookshop! Sigh … excuse me while I drift away into fantasies of coffee and books. Okay, I’m back. Mostly I read self-help-y, change-your-life type stuff. By this I mean anything related to nutrition, to training, to hormones, sleep, goal-setting, productivity, wealth, ‘you can do it’ inspirational type writing, even some particularly thought-provoking Facebook updates … you get the idea.
Of course I often don’t finish what I read. Who has the time? And besides which, there is just so much great stuff out there that it’s impossible to get through it all.
I download free e-books, I buy books for kindle, I invest in awesome self-help programs fitting any or all of the above, and then I either don’t get through them or occasionally even don’t start them!
the key to effortless abundance and living your best life
There is one book I finished recently, and it’s a bit of a stand-out (obviously, or I wouldn’t have finished!). I think it’s worth talking about, and sharing with you.
The key theme to this book is the concept that life not only can be effortless but that the very best results can only be achieved by working with the natural grain of thing. Actually, I should say – it’s not just a book; it’s a program; one that only takes a few minutes every day for 30 days and really does shift your thinking. Any way, this idea was deeply appealing to me. I’ve always been one to rebel a bit and do the opposite of what everyone else is doing! At least this time it’s definitely good for me ?
isn’t it time to stop settling for second best?
The program is called Effortless Abundance: Thirty Days to Change Your Life in the first place. I must admit I couldn’t help but be curious about a program that quoted Buddha (“a jug fills drop by drop”) alongside Charlie Brown (“nothing seems to change much from day to day, but pretty soon everything’s different”), but really it was that whole thing about living my best life that got me. About living a truly INCREDIBLE life.
And as one of my Woman Incredible readers commented just today, isn’t that what we all really want?
The Effortless Abundance program basically lays out for you, step by step, how to dramatically change your life for the best… in only 30-days. Of course you have to want it.
change is hard! but SO worth it.
I must admit, I found it a little hard going at first. I always find it tough to calm the beast that is my mind, and I think I did myself a disservice by trying to read the whole thing through within a week or so (I’m curious and I like to break rules sometimes!) rather than just stick with one day worth of content at a time, for the designated 30 days. When I did follow the rules (okay, I still skipped a few days and took about 40 in total) I found it interesting how easy it was to follow. It reminded me of a favourite new concept of mine, which I picked up from Mary Jaksch on the launch post of Woman Incredible. It’s the idea of deliberately choosing things that are ridiculously easy to implement. That way you can’t help but succeed!
I found it was quite interesting to do the little exercises and feel like I was actually starting to understand some of the weird and limiting thoughts that churn through my mind, and after the first 10 days or so I noticed a gradual creeping sense of calm. The book ties in to much of what I believe and teach on focusing on the really important stuff, or doing only what matters most in keeping with your values and dreams.
stop simply existing and start moving your mind!
Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in a rut or constantly settling for next best? I know we all do from time to time. Now affirmations and feel-good stuff can only get you so far, but here are some of my favourites of these from the Effortless Abundance program just to energise and inspire you –
- To resist change is to become stuck and it seems clear that, if we are to be happy and successful, if we are to keep growing, experiencing the kind of life we desire, then we need to embrace change, welcome it and live creatively with it.
- When you work with the natural flow of the universe, you can become anything you want and experience anything you choose.
- Abraham Lincoln said ‘If I had six hours to chop down a tree, I’d spend the first four hours sharpening the axe.’ So why not spend some time getting to know who you really are?
- If you want to change, you must start the process in your mind first. When you see yourself as being fit and healthy, then going to the gym and eating well will be natural.
- Above all else, we need to realize that we are in control. We are in the driving seat. One could say that life does not happen to us, but that we happen to life.
- And my absolute favourite – ‘in a year from now, you may wish that you had started today.’
can you put a price on a new you? actually, yes – a pretty good one!
Of course if you’d like to go further than just the last few minutes of musing and ponderment and actually take some action then I’d highly recommend this program. Effortless Abundance is normally $18.50, but for Body Incredible readers I have finagled a 25% discount which you’ll get simply by following this link and checking out the details! That brings the cost of the entire program down to just $13.75!
I do have to say though, it’s not for everyone. It’s for you if you are already a thinker, if you already believe that life and achieving your dreams is not about making do. It’s for those who still dream big, but sometimes distract themselves along the way. And it’s definitely for you if you like to self-analyse! Who doesn’t now and then ?
