A 20-Minute SHRED Session For You And A Fave Recipe Of Mine!

Good morning! I hope that your day is swimming along as productively as mine is! I just finished a fairly heavy-duty upper body workout and am feeling slightly out of it in that mentally shaky post-workout kind of way but am also kind of pumped to write and talk and just get on with my day, so here I am!

Why am I so amped up?

Well, I am full swing in preparation for the re-launch of the Woman Incredible VIP Platinum Mentoring and Gold Membership program! I can’t believe it’s been over 12 months since I closed the doors after the initial launch! I had planned to allow access again late last year but it just didn’t quite happen. Which was not a bad thing as it’s allowed me to fine-tune and fine-tune and fine-tune the online training and nutrition side of things until it really is as ‘VIP’ as you can get!

Anyway, part of my preparation (I’ll be honest about it!) is promotion, and so rather than just try and convince you of how fab being a Woman Incredible VIP is I thought I’d give you a little taste ?

So, as a lead in to a great weekend of training and clean eating for all of us I thought I’d share a ‘Saturday Shred session’ and a popular recipe from my VIP archives.

Here is a workout you can use this coming weekend – or anytime! 

Shred session – mixed tabata

Burpee squat press: 20 seconds
Get ups, alternate: 20 seconds
BW jacknife: 20 seconds
KB swings: 20 seconds

Notes:

  • Rest for exactly 10 seconds between each exercises
  • Repeat all exercise. This will total 4 minutes
  • Rest for 2-4 minutes and repeat x 2 more rounds!

And to refuel after your workout, here are my very popular ‘roo burgers. Enjoy ?

Bunless Kangaroo Burgers

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of kangaroo mince (Safeway, or the butcher)
  • 50 grams of sun-dried tomatoes
  • 1 brown onion
  • Few sprigs of basil
  • 50 grams of organic tomato paste
  • Real salt, and pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 30 grams of gluten-free meal, such as ground millet. Quinoa would also be fine
  • Coconut oil

Extras

  • Sliced beetroot (you can roast your own; I was a bit lazy and used canned
  • Organic cheddar cheese – yum!
  • Another brown onion
  • Some chopped up roma tomatoes
  • Some butter lettuce, washed
  • Coconut oil
  • Extra egg and/or bacon if you choose

Method

Peel and chop first onion into little squares. Chop the second onion into rings, and set it aside in a bowl. Chop your basil and sun-dried tomatos into smallish pieces.

Using your hands, mix all of the first batch of ingredients except the coconut oil. Form the mixture into patties, and fry for a good 3-4 minutes each side (in hot coconut oil), over a medium to hot heat.

While they are cooking, fry up your onion rings in a separate pan. Add some sea salt – yummy!

If you are having eggs and bacon on the burger, cook these in the same pan as the onion rings.

Serve your bunless burger on egg/bacon and make it into a lettuce wrap if you like. Yummy!

Kangaroo is one of the leanest meats out there, and is naturally high in the fat-burning essential fatty acid conjugated linoleum acid (CLA). It’s also very well priced! And don’t worry – the taste is not as full on as you may think. It can be a tough meat, so marinating is ideal if you’re using the steak rather than making this recipe.
